Chuck Bean, Executive Director
Chuck Bean is an executive and civic leader with over twenty years of leadership experience in nonprofits, philanthropy, and government. Bean is Executive Director of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, where he is responsible for its overall administration.
He became Executive Director in December 2012 after having previously served for a decade as President of the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington, an alliance of area nonprofit leaders.
Previously, Bean directed the Community Capacity Fund, led a national consortium of foundations that invested in federal Empowerment Zones, served as vice president of the Eureka Foundation, worked for the New York City Human Resources Administration, and founded the nonprofit Co-Invest Guatemala.
Bean received a Master of Public Policy Degree from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. He also is a magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. |
