| Description: | Financial Planning Day is an event at which area residents will receive free, one-on-one, no strings attached financial counseling from qualified financial planning professionals. Participants also will be able to attend educational workshops on personal financial topics. This service, which is being sponsored nationwide by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board), is intended to help families better manage their finances during tough economic times. It is of particular value to those who lack a relationship with a mainstream financial institution and therefore are more likely to fall prey to high-cost check cashing firms and experience mounting credit-card debt. |
