Washington Area Housing Partnership - Description

Established in 1991, the Washington Area Housing Partnership is a regional public-private housing partnership that acts as a catalyst to preserve and expand the supply of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families in the metropolitan area.  The Partnership acts as a convener of regional leaders and stakeholders, as researcher and reporter on local housing policies, as provider of technical assistance to non-profit organizations and local governments, and as advocate for the expansion of affordable housing opportunities across the region.  Although the Partnership has its own by-laws and board of directors, it is housed within and enjoys the full support of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.
