![]() Description | Events Calendar | Documents | Past Documents | Member List Metro Funding Panel - Description The COG Board of Directors at its September, 2004 meeting adopted a resolution to create the Metro Funding Panel to help the area's public transit agency meet a looming shortfall. It is known formally as the Panel on Analysis of and Potential for Alternate Dedicated Revenue Sources for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). COG, along with the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the Federal City Council, appointed 13 experts on economics, political science, public finance and regional transit to research funding options for the region’s public transit system. The panel is scheduled to issue a report in mid-December following a series of five meetings. The panel issued a Final Draft Report for Public Release and Comment December 20. Public comments submitted by 5:00 p.m. on December 31 will be noted in the final report to be released at a press conference January 6. Click here to download the report.
