TPB Human Service Transportation Coordination Task Force - Description

The Task Force met monthly beginning in October 2006 to oversee the development of the human service transportation coordinated plan, required under SAFETEA-LU. TPB member Muriel Bowser chairs the task force. A list of task force members is located under the Documents section.

The Task Force oversaw the development of TPB’s first Coordinated Human Service Transportation Plan for the National Capital Region, which was approved by the TPB on April 18, 2007. The Coordinated Plan guides funding priorities for three FTA programs:

2. Job Access and Reverse Commute Program; and
3. New Freedom Program, a new program for projects that go “above and beyond” the Americans with Disabilities Act’s (
