TPB Regional Taxicab Regulators Task Force - Description
In July 2007, the Transportation Planning Board (TPB) established the Regional Taxicab Regulators Task Force to encourage close cooperation and sharing of information between municipal and county taxicab regulators in the National Capital region and to work to resolve common problems. The task force will also explore the possibility of developing standards to improve the quality of service for taxicab customers in their respective jurisdictions.
Within this broad framework, the task force specifically seeks to develop a regional reciprocity agreement, exchange ideas concerning the regulation of taxicabs, and coordinate efforts to strengthen the alliance between public and private interests.
Task Force meetings are held quarterly and are open to the public.
