Workforce Taskforce - Description

The Workforce Task Force is a new regional initiative that will review the current state of the region’s workforce development system and provide recommendations for enhanced coordination and collaboration of stakeholders. Led by government, business, labor, and education leaders, the goal is to ensure that the region is well positioned to emerge from the current economic crisis more resilient and competitive. This will undoubtedly require a better understanding of how the workforce systems currently perform and the anticipation and preparation for the likely labor market needs of the next five to 20 years.

This is a one-year initiative commissioned by the COG Board of Directors. Formal recommendations for enhanced collaboration and partnership opportunities will be provided to the Board in November 2009.
