Corrections Chiefs Committee - Description

The Corrections Chiefs Committee is comprised of officials from the local correctional systems. They meet regularly to discuss matters and exhange information and ideas related to the delivery of correctional services.

There are a few subcommittees which meet regularly to work on specific issues within corrections, and report to the chiefs:

• Corrections Healthcare Subcommittee
• Corrections Gang Subcommittee

Every year, with COG coordination, the Corrections Chiefs sponsor a Wreath Laying Ceremony and Honor Guard Competition during National Correctional Employees' Week. This ceremony recognizes the outstanding work and dedication of all correctional employees and serves to increase the region's awareness of the important role they play in ensuring the safety of our communities.
