Maryland Transit Administration

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) provides and supports accessible transit networks that are customer focused, safe, appealing, reliable, and efficient throughout Maryland. The MTA oversees the operation of the Local Bus, Metro Subway (Baltimore), Light Rail, MARC Train, Commuter Bus and Mobility. Public transit for Ravens, Orioles and Preakness events are also available. MTA works with the Maryland Department of Transportation in operating Commuter Choice Maryland, an incentive program that offers employers monthly pass distribution options which encourage employees to ride MTA’s public transit for less than full fare. Employers are also rewarded with special federal and state tax deductions, state tax credits, and savings on certain payroll taxes.
