Car Sharing is perfect for occasional use and is available daily or by the hour. Car sharing can be used for personal or business needs in lieu of car ownership or to augment ownership.   Several car sharing companies have collectively positioned hundreds of vehicles in neighborhoods within the Washington DC area.  Online reservation systems help to locate, reserve and access vehicles 24/7, 365 days a year.  After becoming a member, simply wave your member card on the windshield reader to automatically unlock the doors.   Keys and gas cards are located inside the vehicles.  Maintenance, insurance, and fuel are included in the rate.  All car sharing companies offer members the ability to reserve cars in advance and car2go members can also use a car without making an advance reservation (if available).  Zipcar and Hertz On Demand offer an assortment of vehicle makes and models and all car2go vehicles are blue and white smart cars.
