CEEPC MEMBERSHIP NOMINATION/APPLICATION INFORMATION AND FORM

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Government’s (COG) new Climate, Energy and Environment Policy Committee (CEEPC) is seeking to fill membership openings on the committee. The CEEPC is the principal policy adviser to the COG Board of Directors for climate change and energy policy issues. The committee membership includes elected officials from COG’s 22 member local governments; state environmental, energy and transportation agencies; members of the Maryland and Virginia legislatures; federal and regional agencies, as well as stakeholder organizations and the academic community.

COG is seeking people with a regional focus who will help advance implementation of the region’s climate strategy as presented in COG’s Climate Change Report. Representatives are needed for the following sectors: Federal/regional public agencies (4); Electric/gas utility (3); environmental/energy/nonprofit groups (3); business (3); and university/ academic (2).
The CEEPC meets the fourth Wednesday of every other month, 9:45 am-12 pm, at the offices of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, 777 North Capitol St., NE, Suite 300, Washington, D.C. The COG offices are located 1 ½ blocks from the Union Station Metro Red Line, and underground parking is available from First Street NE. It is important that nominees/applicants are able to attend all scheduled meetings.
The online form (below) should be submitted by January 14, 2013. Please indicate your interest in serving on the committee or nominate an individual you recommend. Appointments will be made beginning with the January 23, 2013 meeting. Appointments will be made for one-year terms and can be renewed.
