Regional Tree Canopy Workgroup - Description

An ad-hoc Workgroup dedicated to the management of both the tree and forest canopy in the Washington Metropolitan Region. COG's municipal partners are currently working to determine the feasibility for the creation of an integrated Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) management approach. 

In the face of climate change and an ever-changing landscape of air quality and stormwater management regulations, this Workgroup seeks to maintain healthy forest canopy throughout the region.  This Workgroup also seeks to facilitate information exchange among local governments for a more unified approach to forest canopy management efforts.
