Car Free Day Metro DC

World Car Free Day is an opportunity for residents and workers to see how their streets might look and feel with fewer cars on the road. In keeping with that goal, 7th & F St. NW in downtown Washington, D.C. was closed to allow for a celebration.

Commuter Connections is a program of the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board that provides information and support for area commuters.

Washington, D.C. Councilmember Tommy Wells arrives at the celebration on two wheels.

Harriet Tregoning, TPB Member and D.C. Councilmembers Mary Cheh and Tommy Wells listen as Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) Director, Eric Gilliland addresses the audience.
