The Plan
|

The Long Range Transportation Plan for the National Capital RegionThe long-range plan includes all “regionally significant” highway, transit and High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV), bicycle and pedestrian projects, and studies that the TPB realistically anticipates can be implemented by 2030. Some of these projects are scheduled for completion in the next few years; others will be completed much later. Each year the plan is updated to include new projects and programs, and analyzed to ensure that it meets federal requirements relating to air quality and funding. In October 2006, the TPB adopted a Long-Range Plan for 2030 (the 2006 CLRP) and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) (the FY 2007-2012 TIP), a document that identifies funding for the implementation of the first six years of the plan.
