Continuity of Operations Planning Guidebook for Small BusinessCOG offers small businesses an opportunity to create their own customized business continuity plan. By following on-line the step-by-step Guidebook, any small business can create its own Business Continuity Plan. At the end of the process, you can print and save your plan for distribution and later amendment should company or personnel details change. Registering to use the program is free and enables the system to save your data should you need to return to it later. You do not need any in-depth knowledge of emergency management or business continuity to create your plan, simply provide the information where prompted. The entire process should take approximately 2-4 hours. If you are unable to complete your entire plan in one sitting, you may return later and continue. Your data will be saved. When you return, use the menu on the right to navigate to the chapter you were last working in. As an additional feature of this free service, COG offers advice on the conduct of more exhaustive business continuity planning. This advice is provided in parallel with the planning component and compliments each step of the process, providing examples where appropriate. The following table of contents outlines the steps that your plan will follow. Chapter 1 Small Business and the Disaster Environment
