Work of Heart Respite Services As with all parents, foster parents need a break every now and then, too. Often these breaks can be the difference between a successful foster care placement and one that ends in another move for the child. If you are a CFSA foster parent, consider giving yourself a break with Work of Heart on your side! The following free respite services are available through Work of Heart : Enrichment Respite: All-day childcare sites in DC and Maryland are available on Saturdays. The enrichment activities include field trips, arts & crafts, and workshops on personal growth & development. Detailed program information and locations are available at the Foster and Adoptive Parent Advocacy Center (FAPAC) website. Super Saturday Respite: Monthly Drop-off day one Saturday a month from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Children are supervised by licensed “Work of Heart” staff and volunteers. Monthly registration is required. Overnight Respite : Once monthly overnight weekend respite in the home of a licensed Work of Heart Respite Parent.
