  1990 Potomac River Water Quality: Conditions and Trends in the Metropolitan Washington Region

The report documents 1990 water quality conditions in a 110-mile section of the Potomac River's mainstem, a section that flows through the Washington metropolitan region. The report analyzes data supplied by COG's Coordinated Potomac Regional Monitoring Network on physical, chemical and biological parameters in the river, as well as pollutant loads from area wastewater treatment plants and other sources. Additional information from other sources, such as toxic concentrations and biomonitoring results, also is presented. The report does not make any recommendations on future protection efforts in the Potomac watershed.
