Summary
The Potomac Interceptor is a 54-mile sewer system that transports wastewater from Northern Virginia and Maryland to the Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant in Washington, D.C. On January 19th, a section of the Potomac Interceptor Sewer Pipeline collapsed near Clara Barton Parkway and the I 495 interchange.
