On Friday, February 25, and Saturday, February 26, the Response to Emergencies and Disasters Institute (READI) of the George Washington University will conduct several free offerings of two of our most popular 4-hour seminar training courses entitled "Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings" and "Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents" on our Ashburn, Virginia campus (Building #1, 20101 Academic Way). The "Terrorist Bombings" course (AWR-130) will address potential terrorist targets in U.S. communities, common military and commercial explosives available to terrorists, improvised explosive devices, and response procedures that support safe and effective operations during bomb incidents. The "Suicide Bombing" course (PER-231) defines suicide terrorismy, details bomber information collection techniques, presents indications and warning signs, and addresses legal and personal protection issues necessary to deal with a potential suicide bombing incident. These courses are appropriate for first responders (police, fire, EMS) and their auxilliary unit and support team members, CERT team members, emergency communications operators, hospital and public health personnel, and public and private security organizations and businesses which directly support first responders or need to be able to recognize terrorist bomb weapons and techniques.
