This a meeting for local government solid waste managers and key stakeholders in debris management.

  • Beginning work with the consultant on the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grants for solid waste debris management plans and for a debris-specific table top exercise.
  • A brainstorming session on Construction and Demolition (C&D) Debris material companies (hauling, transfer, processing, recycling, reuse, disposal) to assist our contractor with our C&D reuse and recycling directory for the metro area; please bring any lists you may have of firms that you would like to suggest for inclusion or e-mail it to me.
  • A status report on a regional mutual aid agreements between local governments for debris management functions – an agreement for public safety functions is nearing completion.
  • A plan for future training sessions like the July 28, 2005, debris session at COG.
  • A briefing by Tom Lockwood, the head of the Department of Homeland Security Office of the National Capitol Region (NCR) on the status of the newly drafted NCR strategic plan.
  • A briefing on how the application for UASI FY06 grants will proceed.
