This course trains public works managers and supervisors in their critical infrastructure and public services responsibilities and roles as they relate to a community's preparation and response to a weapons of mass destruction. After completing the course, participants will be able to successfully conduct vulnerability assessments of the jurisdiction's critical infrastructure and facilities and effectively contribute to the management of a WMD/terrorism incident as a member of the jurisdiction's Unified Command structure. The course delivery methodology consists of lectures, small group discussion, participant activities, case studies, and scenario-driven exercises. The participants conclude the course with an activity designed to improve and enhance the public works emergency response plan.
