Purpose:  The SONS Exercise Program is designed to increase the preparedness of the entire response organization from the field level to agency heads in Washington, DC.  The program focuses on exercising the entire National Response System for oil and hazardous materials using large-scale, high-risk incidents, this year will be an earthquake in the New Madrid earthquake zone encompassing the Great Lakes, Mississippi River, and Ohio River Regions

Participants:  USCG Command Center, National Operations Center & DHS Incident Advisory Council, FEMA National Response Coordination Center, and the national Response Team
