What:  Hospital Disaster Life Support Training course.

Participants:  HDLS is a course on hospital disaster management response principles for physicians, critical care/emergency nurses, physician extenders, paramedics, hospital administrators, protective services, and emergency preparedness staff. The course combines classroom discussion of critical "all-hazads" responses issues with actual hands-on exercise simulation for conventional, chemical, and biological Mass Casualty Incidents (MCI).  Course Goal:  to improve personnnel expertise in responding to and coordinating Hospital MCI response.

Coarse Goal:  To improve personnel expertise in responding to and coordinating Hospital MCI response.

Course Learning Objectives

-Perform emergency plan tasks effectively

-Communicate efficiently using the Incident Command Structure (ICS)

-Manage resources in MCI

- Manage and facilitate patient flow
