The Mobile Dispensing Unit (MDU)excercise will provide an opportunity to field test the capabilities of Fairfax County MDUs.  The exercise as will involve an independent living facility (ILF) in Fairfax County as a deployment site for the MDU.  ILFs have been identified as potential deployment sites for MDUs because of their concentration of populations that would not be as capable of walking to a distribution site in the vent of  a CRI incident.  Since ILFs lack on-site medical personnel to oversee medication dispensing, an MDU has been identified as a potential solution to this challenge.  The MDU exercise will test the ability of the MDU team to establish a functional and effective closed dispensing site at a location that has not been previously identified or vetted as a QDC.
