Participants:  Local, county, and state government representatives with an interest in HAZUS and basic understanding of ArcGIS 9.x to attend.

Purpose:  This DHS sponsored course provides participants with the necessary tools to deliver WMD/Terrorism Incident Defensive Operations for Emergency Responders (PER-212), which is a NFPA 472 Operations level Haz Mat course that focuses on the special challenges faced by emergency responders and first receivers in dealing with a WMD or terrorist incident.

Topics include:

Behavior of hazardous materials involved in aWMD incident

Marking and container recognition

Effective work and communication within the Incident Command Syster

Incident Survery

Detection Equipment

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Defensive options, strategies, and tactics

Emergency decontamination
