COG’s dashboard is the first unified, near real-time dashboard for DC, Maryland, and Virginia that aggregates and displays recent crime data from 24 local jurisdictions. The dashboard is a publicly available resource for police officials, government, business, and nonprofit leaders, the media, and area residents to access data and better understand crime trends in the region.
COG uses several data sharing programs and tools to enhance coordination and collaboration across the region. The Regional Incident Communication and Coordination System (RICCS), managed and maintained by COG, is a 24/7 notification system that helps officials communicate during emergencies by immediately notifying local, state, and federal officials .
Additionally, with the use of Identity, Access, and Management Service (IAMS), COG manages and maintains a National Capital Region (NCR) SharePoint Portal where stakeholders can access, upload, and review relevant documents.
