Crime Dashboard

The COG Regional Crime Dashboard provides a high-level understanding of local and regional crime trends from recent days to 2002. The dashboard examines the following offenses against people and property: homicide, robbery, rape, aggravated assault, motor vehicle theft, burglary, and larceny.

Real-time data in the crime dashboard is classified using the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s national standard in crime data reporting, National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), unless otherwise noted. The FBI implemented NIBRS to improve the overall quality of crime data collected by law enforcement, as it captures details on each crime incident to include the separate offenses within that same incident. FBI crime reports are accessible online. Please refer to the About the Data tab for caveats and qualifications of the dashboard’s data.

COG's 24 member jurisdiction are currently participating in this dashboard, and additional local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in the region will be invited to participate later in 2025.

The Crime Dashboard is one of numerous initiatives of the COG Department of Homeland Security and Public Safety to enhance public safety and reduce crime in the region, and builds off the annual regional crime report that COG members have contributed to for over two decades.

Please contact eruss@mwcog.org with any questions or feedback for the dashboard project team and COGStaffOC@mwcog.org for any media inquiries. Please direct inquiries regarding jurisdictional data to the appropriate local law enforcement agencies.

Note: For the best user experience, use a desktop browser and view the Microsoft Power BI dashboard in full screen or focus mode. Users can right-click a data point within a visualization to drill down and view the data in a table format.
