Indoor Air QualityIndoor air quality (IAQ) poses many challenges for local government. Studies show that people spend more than 90 percent of their time indoors. For certain groups that proportion can be even higher. The concentration of many pollutants indoors can exceed those outdoors. The locations of highest concern are those involving prolonged, continuing exposure, that is, the home, school, and workplace. As such, local governments in the region have initiated a variety of approaches to deal with indoor air pollutants To facilitate information sharing, staff first convened the Indoor Air Quality Roundtable Committee in May 2000. Visit the Roundtable committee site to view the meeting schedule and to download agendas, minutes, and presentations. Additionally, you may visit a list of links [link to be created soon] to IAQ resources outside of COG.
