The Part 150 Advisory Committee is soliciting input on where to locate six new noise monitors along the Reagan National Airport flight path. Comments are encouraged on monitor sites. This site contains maps showing the 20 existing monitor locations and 92 proposed locations based on noise complaints received by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. If you would like to comment on where the new noise monitors should be added, please visit the comment form.

Here are some general guidelines to identify proposed noise monitoring sites:

  • Site should be open and flat;
  • Site should not be within approximately 20 feet of any structure;
  • Site should not be on concrete or under a tree;
  • Site should not be subject to normally expected sound intrusions;
  • Site should be impacted by aircraft over flights; and
  • Site should be on public controlled land.
