Putting the LID on Stormwater Management
Prince George's County, Maryland, and the Anacostia Watershed Toxics Alliance (AWTA) hosted the first national conference on Low Impact Development (LID) September 21-23 in College Park, Maryland. The Putting the LID on Stormwater Management Conference was a huge success. There were more than 450 attendees from across the United States and abroad during the two and a half day conference. Over 85 papers were presented covering a variety of Low Impact Development projects and topics from across Prince George's County. The Conference program, speaker papers, and speaker bios are available for download (20 MB PDF, very large file). The Conference was part of a larger effort to show the benefits of using LID and stream restoration. Several demonstration sites using these techniques in Washington, D.C. and the surrounding metropolitan area were showcased during the conference. Thanks to all those who attended - you helped to make it a success!
