Most of eastern Loudoun County gets its water from the Loudoun County Sanitation Authority (LCSA), a public water distribution agency, which purchases water from the Fairfax County Water Authority (FCWA) and from the City of Fairfax Department of Utilities. The towns of Purcellville, Hamilton, Round Hill, Middleburg, and Lovettsville have municipal systems that rely mostly on groundwater. The water purchased by LCSA from FCWA comes mostly from the Potomac River at an intake near Great Falls, VA. Small portions may also come from the Occoquan River. The City of Fairfax DU takes its water from Goose Creek. Its Goose Creek Reservoir has a 200 million gallon capacity. The back-up, Beaverdam Creek Reservoir, has a 1.3 billion gallon capacity and is used in case of drought. Most of the water purchased from FCWA is treated at the Potomac River Corbalis Treatment Plant, which can treat 150 mgd. The City of Fairfax has its own water treatment plant, which can treat up to 18 mgd. Read the Consumer Confidence Report on LCSA's website Address: Loudoun County Sanitation Authority, P.O.
