Your Water Supply

  • Water Source
Almost all of Rockville gets its water from the City of Rockville Department of Public Works. This water comes from an intake on the Potomac River 12 miles upstream from Chain Bridge. A small portion of the city is served directly by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), and the city's system has substantial interconnections with WSSC's system, which can supply water in case of an emergency or shortage.

  • Water Treatment

  • Water is treated at the city's Rockville Water Treatment Plant on the Potomac near Potomac, MD. The plant can treat 8 million gallons a day, and 12 million gallons of water are kept in storage.

  • Water Quality

  • Copies of the Consumer Confidence Report are available in City Hall and will soon be posted on the city's website.

  • Contact Information

  • Address: City of Rockville Department of Public Works, City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD 20850-2364
