Public Safety ProgramsThe public safety program seeks to advance the broader understanding of regional public safety issues and help meet the public safety needs of member local governments and their residents. Examples of programs areas are regional emergency plans and agreements; crime control and anti-terrorism programs; traffic safety campaigns; emergency communications systems; fire safety campaigns; police and fire statistical reports; training programs for police, fire, and corrections personnel; regional competitions and award programs; and symposiums on topics of special interests such as hate crimes, graffiti reduction and judicial interest in drug sentencing, domestic violence, and child abuse.
