Center for Creative Land Recycling Nonprofit focused organization creating sustainable communities by identifying and implementing responsible patterns of land use and development.
Center for Neighborhood Technology Non-profit organization focused on developing innovative public policy to address sustainable urban growth, development, and transportation.
Complete Streets Coalition A coalition advocating for improving street design for a diverse set of users, including pedestrians and bikers.
Congress for the New Urbanism Non-profit organization promoting walkable, neighborhood-based development as an alternative to sprawl.
Green Communities Online Green Communities is the first national green building program focused entirely on affordable housing.
Local Government Commission Center for Livable Communities Non-profit organization working to build liveable communities, and creators of the Ahwahnee Principles.
The National Association of Biking and Walking Non-profit organization dedicated to creating bicycle-friendly and walkable communities.
National Center for Neighborhood and Brownfields Redevelopment University program promoting the redevelopment of brownfields.
National Charrette Institute Nonprofit educational institution helping people build community capacity for collaboration to create healthy community plans.
PlaceMatters Non-profit organization, supporting projects in which teams of planning innovators incubate and experiment with new tools and methods, alone and in combination, in a variety of planning settings and situations.
Reconnecting America and the Center for Transit-Oriented Development Non-profit organization focused on issues transit-oriented development and development-oriented transit, including mixed-income development.

Smart Growth America Non-profit coalition of national, state and local organizations focused on the planning of towns, cities and metropolitan areas.
The Smart Growth Network Formed in 1996 as collaboration between the US Environmental Protection Agency and non-profit organizations. Works to promote development that serves the economy, community, and environment.
Surface Transportation Policy Project Non-profit coalition working to ensure safer communities and smarter transportation choices that enhance the economy, improve public health, promote social equity, and protect the environment.
Sustainable Communities Network A clearinghouse for information on creating healthy, vital communities.
US Environmental Protection Agency Smart Growth Office Federal agency working with local, state, and national experts to discover and encourage successful, environmentally sensitive development strategies.
