District of Columbia TA Program Application Materials
For information about applicant and project eligibility, please review the MAP-21 Transportation Alternatives Program Guidance.
Applicants are required to consult with TPB staff prior to the submission of an application. Applicants may meet this requirement in one of the following ways:
- Attend the Regional TA Program Application Workshop, scheduled for March 22, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. at MWCOG.
- Schedule a one-on-one consultation with TPB staff by contacting TAP@mwcog.org. All consultations must be scheduled by May 1, 2013.
Applications for FY 2013 TLC technical assistance are due by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Maryland applicants must submit applications directly to the Maryland Department of Transportation. See the statewide TA Program website for more information.
District of Columbia and Virginia applicants seeking regional TA Program funding must follow the application submission procedure below:
- Please submit all application materials electronically to TAP@mwcog.org.
- If the application submission is too large to send via e-mail, please mail a CD or DVD with all required materials to the following address. Applications materials must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

- Additionally, for ALL applications, please submit one hard copy of the application and four sets of 1/2 size plans to the address above (postmarked by May 15).
The FY 2013/2014 regional TA Program application timeline is as follows:
- March 1, 2013: Release the project solicitation.
- March 22: Regional TA Program Application Workshop - 12:30 p.m. via webinar and at MWCOG (RSVP required).
- May 15: Applications are due by 4:00 p.m.
- June/July: Regional TA Program Selection Panel reviews applications.
- September 18: The TPB is scheduled to approve the TAP projects.
The TPB will work with the states to determine project eligibility and readiness. Upon preliminary state review, the TPB will convene a TA Program Selection Panel to review the application submissions for each state and recommend a slate of projects for funding under TAP for each of the suballocations. Applicants can review the selection criteria and contact TPB staff with any questions or clarifications.
