TPB is accepting comments on an amendment to the FY 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) to support the development of the Virginia Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. The comment process on the TIP is being used to obtain comments on the region’s program of projects that are funded by the Federal Transit Administration (including projects funded by the Urbanized Area Formula Program) and the Federal Highway Administration.
The TPB will review the amendment as part of their May 20 meeting agenda (Item 12 - VDOT TIP Amendment Notice). The TPB will take action on the amendment at their June 17 meeting.

How to Comment
Interested members of the public will be given the opportunity to comment on transportation issues under consideration by the TPB. Comments are accepted on an ongoing basis by online form, email, phone message, and by mail.

In-person meetings: For any member of the public who wishes to address the board on the day of an in-person TPB meeting, they may do so by registering to attend and speak in person or by emailing written comments to TPBcomment@mwcog.org with the subject line “Item 1 Public Comment Opportunity”, or by calling and leaving a phone message at (202) 962-3315. Comments will be summarized and shared with TPB members as part of their published meeting materials. These statements must be received by staff no later than 12:00 P.M. (Noon) on Tuesday the day prior to a scheduled board meeting.
