The Region Forward Coalition Complete Communities Partnership will strengthen the National Capital Region by connecting decision makers with new planning and economic development tools. Contribute
The Region Forward Coalition and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments are seeking approximately twenty partners to survey physical characteristics of Activity Centers. The survey results will be used to develop the Region Forward Coalition's Strategic Investment Plan, a detailed strength and opportunity analysis for Activity Centers. .
Learn From a Leading Researcher
Mariela Alfonzo Ph.D will present her work on social and economic outcomes in the built environment and teach participants to survey their communities using the Irvine Minnesota Inventory, which collects detailed information about the physical characteristics of a community..
Get Certified
Participants will get certified to use the Irvine Minnesota Inventory to collect data for a growing national database of places that will be used to understand the connection between placemaking and economic development.
Partner
The Region Forward Coalition will train partners free of charge, in return each participant will survey at least one Activity Center in the National Capital Region, and provide the data to the COG team. Surveys must be completed between September 15th and November 9th.*
* Centers will be assigned for partners to survey
