Planning Areas
To shape more livable and prosperous communities, the Council of Governments promotes regional cooperation on planning, the economy, and housing options for all residents. COG informs area decision-makers with population, employment, and housing forecasts, and shares best practices and data on affordable housing and homelessness. COG proposes strategies to support sound land use and high-quality development in Activity Centers and near High-Capacity Transit Station Areas. COG and its members also coordinate on public health and child welfare programs.
