Separated bike-lane design guide workshop coming up June 29

Separated bike lanes have become a hot topic in recent years. Now, two new design guides—one from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the other from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT)—provide planners with updated best practices for building them.

On Wednesday, June 29, the TPB’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee will host a workshop to examine and discuss these new design guides. Planners from the District of Columbia and Montgomery and Arlington counties will also be on hand to talk about their experiences in planning and building separated bike-lane facilities.

Planners, jurisdiction staff, and members of the public are all invited to attend the all-day workshop.
