The Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee and the District of Columbia Department of Transportation are sponsoring a one-day seminar on a new manual from the Institute for Transportation Engineers (ITE) for planning and designing major urban thoroughfares that are supportive of and compatible with their surrounding environment and land uses.
The manual is being released as a proposed recommended practice for planners, engineers, and others who design major urban thoroughfares.
