Symposium Objectives:
1. Promote multidisciplinary discussion of public health emergency preparedness issues related to SARS.
2. Discuss National Capital Region preparedness strategies for:
· Response communication
· Isolation and quarantine
· Diagnosis and treatment of SARS.
3. Identify solutions to identified National Capital Region preparedness and response problems.
4. Promote personal and professional linkages at the local and state level and with the Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Homeland Security that will be important in responding to a public health emergency in the National Capital Area
