The Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program is designed for local government officials, emergency managers, volunteers and other emergency service personnel who are responsible for preparing, responding to, or recovering from disasters. It is intended to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to develop and conduct disaster exercises that will strengthen a community's emergency operations plan and operational response capability.
To this end, the course provides hands-on training in the design, conduct and evaluation of exercises so that participants will be able to develop and implement a comprehensive exercise program in their respective jurisdictions.
The goal of the evaluation section is to provide participants with an understanding of the need for exercise evaluation and the available methodologies for evaluation. It will provide the base for evaluation of multi-hazard, multi-jurisdictional exercises in which State and local governments participate. The focus will be on the evaluation process to serve the needs of individuals who manage the exercise evaluation function in the field of emergency management.
