"Do we really need to do that every time?" by District Chief Dave McGrail, Denver Fire Department

This 8-hour seminar is a Fireground Strategy & Tactics presentation with an emphasis on developing and maintaining a Strong Firefighter Mind-Set.  A very keen Mind-Set, with physical and mental preparation, and the application of "good habits" at every incident, every time, are the keys to firefighter safety and survival on the Fireground, and overall operational success.  This day long seminar will include the essential components of: Engine Company fire Ground Operations, including proper weapons selection (hose & nozzles) and line placement.  Ladder Company Fireground Operations, including fireground tool assignments and riding positions for various different types of occupancies.  Developing methods to complete the critical Fireground support functions even without an actual Ladder Apparatus and or the appropriate levels of manpower will be identified.  Command system will be addressed.  Case studies illustrating the Command and Control at major emergencies will be included.
