The Air Quality Section of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) Department of Environmental Programs invites you to the next Indoor Air Quality Meeting.

Jennifer Keller will give a presentation on the Clean School Bus USA Program. Ms. Keller is the Clean School Bus USA Program Manager with the U.S. EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality.  This program aims to reduce children’s exposure to harmful diesel exhaust from school buses.  Diesel exhaust has been linked to asthma, respiratory illness, heart disease, and even cancer.  More information about the Clean School Bus USA Program is available at http://www.epa.gov/cleanschoolbus/.

Rhonda Minnick, Environmental Protection Specialist with the U.S. EPA Office of Solid Waste, will give a presentation on the Schools Chemical Cleanout Campaign (SC3).  The SC3 focuses on removing unnecessary hazardous chemicals from schools, encouraging safe chemical management practices, and raising the national awareness of the problem.  More information about SC3 is available at http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/conserve/clusters/schools/.

We will also have a roundtable report from participants on IAQ activities and issues.
