Training Objectives:

Participants should be able to:

  • Increase their understanding of Motivational Enhancement Therapy and it's role in the treatment of individuals with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorder.
  • Under the priciples of the Transtheoretical Model of Change.
  • Learn the five basic principles of Motivational Enhancement Therapy
  • Achieve an increased comfort level in dealing with "denial & resistance" in the co-occurring client.
  • Earn 5.5 CEU credits (Qualified Participant's only)
