This day will cover message mapping techniques for reaching target audiences with a well-defined, succinct message.  Practitioners from a variety of fields including water, public information, health, and emergency management will be participating.

You are invited to attend a 2-part interactive Risk Communication Workshop and Exercise, facilitated by the world's premier risk communications specialist Dr. Vincent Covello.  Dr. Covello will provide risk communication training using his "message mapping" technique, which is based on 30 years of research and experience in responding to disasters and emergencies.

Dr. Covello's interactive and engaging style has proven enormously successful with high level exectuvies and others who must communicate critical information in high stress, emotionally charged situations.  Examples of how this training has been applied by public officials include Mayor Giuliani after 9/11, the London subway bombing, and the recent British airline threat.

Who should attend:

- Water utility professionals

- Electric utility professionals

- Health officials

- Emergency managers

- Public safety officials (police, fire)

- Transportation officials

- Public Information professionals

All sessions will be held in the COG Training Center.  There is no cost to attend but an RSVP is required.  Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Space is limited to only 35 participants in each session.

Please fax or email RSVP form by September 8
