What: Obesity is a public health crisis that requires a multidisciplinary response.  This event will examine current and potential impacts, barriers, and practices.  Attendees will recommend regional  strategies to reduce the community burden of obesity.

Who Should Attend: Elected Officials, County and City Council members, superintendents, private sector representatives (including developers), foundations, and PTA representatives from within the Washington Metropolitan Region.

Highlights of the Interactive Agenda:

  • Define the Regional impact of obesity
  • Measuring the cost of obesity to the region
  • Review of a regional survey of obesity practices and policies
  • Best pratices and how to translate them into our region
  • Recommending strategies to move obesity response to the interdisciplinary level
