What:  Northern Virginia Emergency Response System Functional Exercise

Participants:  RHCC, NOVA Hospitals

Purpose:  Test plans at the interagency level, including RHCC plans and the MMRS Regional Operationsl Plan;  Practice coordination between area hospitals, the RHCC, and on scene incident management for movement of patients between area hospitals;  Examin methods for sharing intelligence among the Northern Virginia emergency public safety, emergency response, law enforcement intelligence, and emergency management community, as appropriate; Test procedures to obtain items from MMRS stockpiles, including the RX cache; Activation and utilization of an Incident Command System (ICS) that evolves into Unified Command and; Test hospital surge capability, particularly as pertains to burn patients in a mass casualty scenario, and patient tracking.
