Purpose: Fairfax County Health Department's PUSH program is designed to reach assisted living facilities, shelters, and other concentrated populations in the event of a CRI activation.  The PUSH exercise is designed to involve several newly designated PUSH stakeholder sites in simulating the actual PUSH activation and distribution process.  PUSH participants will be alerted via the Health Alert Network (HAN) to send representatives to a simulated PUSH distribution point.   At the site, representatives will be processed using established procedures and a determination will be made as to what quantities and types of medications they would be supplied with in an actual incident.  The exercise is designed to test and validate a number of procedures related to the PUSH program, including: establishing a PUSH distribution site, activation of the PUSH plan via HAN, and the ability of staff to effectively process PUSH participant representatives.
