Purpose:  The IMT exercises are planned to be conducted in conjunction with the Virginia Department of health (VDH) pandemic influenza exercises (FluEX '08).  Fiarfax County Health Department is planning to use the opportunity to test interagency communications and to demonstrate proper resource requesting procedures through a functional exercise.  The VDH exercise is scheduled to take place over 2 days.  FCHD hopes to take advantage of the opportunityto exercise as much of the Incident management Team as possible.  members of the IMT will run the Health Department Operations Center (HDOC) during the exercise.  An incident will be created in WebEOC and event reporting and tracking will be coordinated through WebEOC to more accurately simulate actual incident operations.

The proposed exercise involves dividing the IMT into 3 groups and exercisng one group each day.  The seoncd and third days will coincide witth the state's FluEx '08, while the first day will be a health deparmtnet-level exercise only.  IMT groups will be staged in the health Department Operations Center and coordinate with the VDH over the course of the exercise.  IMT groups will receive SimCell injects over the course of the exercise in order to simulate reports from area commands, and will coordinate with the VDH ECC.  Proper reporting and handling of information and requests will be evalauated.
